Who We Are

INUS News (Immigration News United States) is an independent digital news publication dedicated to delivering clear, accurate, and timely information about U.S. immigration, government benefits, and everyday life in America.

We are not a law firm, and we do not provide legal advice. We are a team of journalists and researchers who track USCIS policy updates, federal benefits programs, state-level rules, and major immigration announcements so that our readers do not have to sort through government websites on their own.

Our team has years of experience covering U.S. immigration news, USCIS policy, federal tax matters, and social benefits programs. We write for a broad audience, green card holders managing their status, H1B workers navigating extensions, DACA recipients tracking renewal deadlines, naturalized citizens staying informed, and U.S. citizens who want to understand how immigration policy affects their families and communities.

Who We Write For

Our primary focus is on the needs of people living and working inside the United States, though we also cover immigration pathways, policy changes, and updates that affect people at any stage of the immigration process. Our core readers include:

  • Lawful permanent residents (green card holders) managing renewals, travel, and status maintenance
  • H1B and H2B visa holders already working in the U.S., navigating extensions and transfers
  • DACA recipients tracking renewal windows and policy changes
  • Naturalized U.S. citizens staying current on immigration law and federal benefits
  • Asylum holders and refugee status holders managing their documentation
  • U.S.-born citizens who want to understand how policy changes affect immigrants in their communities

While our primary editorial focus is on people already living in the United States, we also cover immigration entry pathways, visa processes, and policy changes that affect those navigating the U.S. immigration system at any stage. Our goal is to be the most useful source of immigration information regardless of where you are in your journey.

Our Mission

INUS News exists to make complex government information accessible to everyone who needs it. U.S. immigration rules, USCIS forms, federal benefit schedules, and tax deadlines are not easy to navigate. Government websites are often dense, difficult to read, and slow to reflect the latest changes.

Meanwhile, misinformation spreads quickly online, particularly in immigrant communities where the stakes of acting on wrong information are extremely high.

Our job is to cut through the noise and give our readers accurate, plain-language information they can actually understand and act on. We believe that access to clear, reliable information is not a privilege; it is a practical necessity.

A green card holder who does not know their renewal deadline, an H1B worker who misses an extension window, or a family that does not know which benefits they are entitled to can face consequences that affect their entire lives.

INUS News exists to close that information gap. We are committed to covering immigration and benefits news with the seriousness and respect these topics deserve.

Every article we publish is written with a real reader in mind, someone who needs to make a decision, meet a deadline, or understand a policy change that directly affects their life. We do not write to generate outrage or to fill space. We write to inform.

Our mission also includes holding ourselves to a high standard of accuracy and transparency. We verify facts against official government sources. We correct errors openly. We distinguish between confirmed policy changes and developing news. In a topic area where one wrong piece of information can lead a reader to miss a filing deadline or make a costly mistake, accuracy is not optional; it is the foundation of everything we do.

Ultimately, INUS News is built on a simple idea: that the immigrant community and all those navigating the U.S. immigration system deserve a trusted, independent source of news they can rely on every day. That is what we are here to provide.

Editorial Standards

INUS News is committed to accuracy, transparency, and fairness in all of our reporting. These editorial standards apply to every article we publish. We hold ourselves accountable to these principles and welcome feedback from our readers when we fall short.

1. Accuracy First

Every fact we publish must be verified against a credible primary source before it is included in an article. For immigration news, that means official USCIS announcements, Federal Register notices, official government press releases, and court orders. For benefits and tax information, we rely on IRS.gov, SSA.gov, USDA FNS, and relevant state government agencies.

We do not publish rumors, unverified claims, or information based solely on social media posts. When a story is developing and full facts are not yet available, we clearly label it as such.

2. Primary Sources Over Secondary Sources

Where possible, we link directly to the official government source. This includes:

  • USCIS (uscis.gov) for immigration forms, fees, and processing times
  • IRS (irs.gov) for tax rules, deadlines, and refund information
  • SSA (ssa.gov) for Social Security payment schedules and program eligibility
  • USDA FNS for SNAP/EBT benefit schedules
  • Federal Register (federalregister.gov) for official regulatory announcements
  • CBP and DHS for enforcement-related updates

When we reference third-party analysis, we attribute the source and distinguish it from official government information.

3. We Are Not a Law Firm

INUS News provides general information about immigration and government benefits. Nothing we publish constitutes legal advice, and our articles should not be used as a substitute for consultation with a qualified immigration attorney or legal aid organization.

When an article covers a topic where individual circumstances significantly affect the outcome, such as Green Card applications, naturalization eligibility, or deportation defense, we encourage readers to seek professional legal guidance.

4. Corrections Policy

We make mistakes. When we do, we correct them quickly and transparently.

  • Minor factual errors (such as an incorrect date or fee amount) are corrected in the article itself, with a correction note added at the bottom indicating what was changed and when
  • Significant errors that materially affected the information in an article are corrected with a prominent correction notice at the top of the article
  • We do not silently delete or alter incorrect content without a disclosure

If you believe an article contains an error, contact us and we will review it within 48 hours. Our standard is, if it was wrong, we correct it publicly.

5. Timeliness and Date Labeling

Immigration rules, USCIS fees, and benefits program schedules change frequently. Every article on INUS News displays:

  • A publication date
  • A last-updated date when the article has been revised

We review time-sensitive articles when major policy changes occur and update them accordingly. Articles that cover topics affected by recent policy shifts will be labeled as under review until they are updated. We do not leave outdated information live without disclosure.

6. Fairness and Balance

Immigration is a politically charged topic. INUS News reports on immigration law and policy factually, without advocating for a political position. When we cover government policy changes, such as executive orders, USCIS rule updates, or congressional legislation, we report what the policy says and what it means practically for our readers. We do not editorialize unless clearly labeled as opinion or analysis.

We cover all members of the immigrant community with equal care and respect, regardless of national origin, visa category, or immigration status.

7. Use of Artificial Intelligence

INUS News uses AI-assisted tools in research and drafting. All AI-generated content is reviewed, edited, and verified by a human editor before publication. We do not publish AI output directly. Factual claims are independently verified against primary sources regardless of how the draft was produced.

8. Advertising and Editorial Independence

INUS News may carry advertising and may participate in affiliate programs. Advertisers do not influence our editorial content. Our reporting is not shaped by the commercial interests of any sponsor, advertiser, or third party. Sponsored content, when published, is clearly labeled as such and is visually distinct from editorial articles.

9. Reader Privacy

We respect the privacy of our readers. Our privacy policy, available at inusnews.com/privacy-policy, explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights. We do not sell personal data.

10. Accountability

These editorial standards apply to all content published on inusnews.com. If you believe we have failed to meet these standards in any article, please contact us directly. We take editorial accountability seriously and will respond to all credible concerns about our reporting.
